me and dave wont be coming due to other comitments and the mog beeing poorly/halfway being modded
thanks for the offer (because i realy want to bring the mog to the site rather than one of the more gentle offroaders)and hope to be invited again when every thing is sorted

No problem , just want to see what l would have to cater for and check a few turning circles, hights , and flatten a few brambles. , more a bit of planing for future bash .
l am sure there will be someone brave enough to try a new 400 mtr dry ditch section!! J P .

Fine Jim , l will restructure the day to give the others a run on the novice track, We may get a few converts .
As the group is now smaller it will enable us to see how the MOG copes in the small woodland but doubt it will get round the tighter sections, J P .

Hi John,

Looking forward to all of it - have you been in a mog, particularly a 404? They are the single most maneoverable vehicle I have ever driven, the turning circle is astonishing (they use something called a double cardan joint instead of CV) and you can position it so accuratly that I adjust the passenger wing mirror by catching the garage door on the way out!

We've also just got new tyres, we had "municipal" tyres on it, which were essentially road tyres with a couple of token lugs. Now we have continental mpt80's on the front (waiting for rears) which are a really aggressive off road biased tyre. Should be good.

Well Jim , a good job you mentioned the turning circle as l have just had a walk round thiking there is no way a mog will fit in here !!!.
l will be realy surprised if it,s as good as you say, This rain has put a greasy skin on the trail so a good test for tyres,
Have you a winch fitted ?? one or two sections still trickyl think , still NO where near as greasy as the XMAS bash we had , the biggest handicap will be the hieght [ ashleys just made it through the over hanging branches ] , l WONT cut them just to suit as it ads character for the smaller trucks,
lt,s only a test day for both of us to see what is needed to accomodate bigger trucks,
l know we organised this on short notice so a steep learning curve BUT, l wonder if at even shorter notice you know of anyone with a well sorted caged suzuki or a 90 to test my new 2x200mtr ditch section?? preferably a well experienced driver with NO FEAR , lf not it will have to wait till l can find the right person + truck , see you in the morning !! .J P

Well Jim , not only was it nice to meet up with you it was an education to see how well the MOGGY performed!!
l realy thought it would be ungainly and out of place on the tight track! , not so it was remarkably capable, + it did very little damage to the ground [trees were a different subject],
The ground clearence was evident+ those large dia wheels made easy work of most sections , l will have to re think the rock section if we entrtain MOG,s in the future .
Thanks to all who turned up for your co-operation in fields of growing crops, also to Damian who once more put picture taking above driving to enable us to have some memories of the morning ,
lt was good to meet Chris M who imparted some sound ideas for me to follow up ,
Hope you enjoyed the morning as much as l did, + half as much as Jasper in a road going freelander . Till next time Cheers , J P .
