I want to get some AT tyres for my fairly new (18 months old) Cherokee CRD. I have had some trouble finding something that looks good, works well on and off road and fits. I know the size is 235/65 HR17 and that's where I seem to hit a problem.
Any suggestions?

I take it you have the Limited, rather than the Sport then?
The 17x7.5 alloys are a non-standard size for ATs. If you had the 16x7 alloys, as fitted to the Sport, then you'd have a lot more choice at 235/70 x16 (which comes out very marginally smaller). BFG and Goodyear make ATs in this size.
I reckon you'd best look around for someone selling a set of Sport alloys, and go from there. You could fit them with muds for off-roading, and keep your existing wheel / tyre combination for on-road driving.
Check out the classifieds on www.jeepclub.co.uk, www.j33p.org, www.rockznrutz.com and www.birtydastardsjeepclub.com, or take a look on eBay. It might be worth joining a few of the Jeep forums, as there's normally someone who can point you at what you need.

Thanks for that. I think having looked around a bit now and you are absolutely right. why somebody doesn't do an AT tyre for 17" wheels is beyond me. I cant imagine I will be the only person.
To be honest I have been doing up an old Series 3 for bouncing around the South Downs. So should probably leave the Jeep at home and use it for towing (the purpose that I intended)
