Anyone here got one?
How is it, do you like it or love it, any issues?
Manual or Auto, staying standard or getting modded?

From Jan to June 2019, now must be on personal plate or maybe scrapped /exported as no longer showing on DVLA site.
Has anyone seen my old Blue Jimny auto around, i had it from new.
North of England maybe.
I traded it in in January to a Big motor group in Scotland, then it was for sale at a smaller dealership in the North of England so at least twice 'In trade' since i had it.
It was back on its original registration number SM53 HLD in January to June since i kept my personal plate and no Registered Keeper is showing so a Police Force has been asking me if i know the Keeper since it did 35 in a 30 speed limit in June. lol.

We have a stock pleb spec one at work. There are only two options and there was a 9 month wait for the high spec one. The high spec one gets alloys, LED headlights and satnav over ours but we didn't want any of that so it's ok.

It's great fun, there are a lot of design features to remind you of the old SJ like the fixings around the dials and the slots in the bonnet. There is basically no boot with the back seats up and it's snug in the back for the back passengers. But what do you expect for such a small car. The back seats could also fold flatter to make a better load area. It's no motorway cruiser, it's quite pleasant at 50mph but feels like your pushing it a bit hard on the motorway. It does it ok it just feels like your pushing it. It's a 5sp manual and could do with a 6th gear. But the speed limit in Japan is 50 so it's hardly surprising its setup as it is.

In terms of how it drives it rolls like a live axle truck, and performs like a small petrol engine truck. I would happily drive around the country but not for long motorway trips.

It might get winter tyres, will see how well they do when the time comes. Otherwise it will stay standard.

It's only done 3,000 miles but we had a thing missing on the dash, a sensor of some sort, don't know if we lost it or it wasn't there from new but they replaced under warranty. We have a chipped windscreen which Autoglass will replace but they are telling us it will have to go to the dealer after to get the speed camera re calibrated. All that does read the road signs for you and display a reminder on the dash so we will ignore it until it goes for a service.

I know enough to be dangerous.

I've driven a few of them, the most recent was the auto version, which was - ok. The only thing that lets it down is both gearboxes - they just need an extra cog, as 70mph equates to 3,500rpm, and on the motorway it can drone on a bit. Also, the tyres are a bit too skinny, I know a few people who have swapped then for slightly bigger/wider AT's which have made a world of difference on the handling.

I wrote a review in issue 1 of my magazine which you can read here -

The Difflock 3 are safe..... but you can still send cheques..!

Fetch me a coffee & no one gets hurt.
