I daily drive a TDX and have a TDL sitting as spare parts donor.
Toying with converting the TDX to electric, but thinking it'd be worth doing to testing/grunt work on the TDL, this includes making an adapter plate to fit the motor to the transmission.
The TDX has the vacuum switched 4H and the TDL has the gear lever switched tranny.
Does anyone know if the mating surfaces are the same? I'm kinda thinking so because otherwise they'd need specific engines to mate up.
Anyone?

From what i can tell, the bell housing and engines are all interchangable, and it's only the gear ratio that changes for the petrol models and potentially the non-turbo models.
