Hi have fitted a new steering box on my 300tdi but am having an awful job trying to start the steel pipe which goes from top of steering box to pump, any tricks as it's stressing me out 😡

I know it sounds silly but you are not trying to put a metric threaded pipe into an imperial threaded socket or vie versa

I find push the pipe in then wiggle it side to side whilst turning the nut. It can be difficult as the pipe holds it at an angle which is why I find pushing the pipe all the way in helps get it straight. If it just won't go check the threads aren't damaged.
