Hi, has anybody converted a fourtrak to automatic? I once a long time ago saw a fourtrak with an auto gearbox for sale on a forecourt and it looked factory but I have never seen or heard of one since.
The options I have thought of are:
1. finding a ranger Rover with a daihatsu engine and the retro fitting the gearbox and transfer into a fourtrak.
2. Using a landcruiser 70 series auto and transfer (I have one in the shed) but the auto is semi electronic which would be a pain.
3. Find another auto box and try and mate to daihatsu transfer... Pajero maybe?
It would be a lot of effort but I know someone who loves fourtraks but really needs an auto.
