Hi
I need to sort out some of the spaghetti wiring on my truck and need some help please.

I want to run one power cable from the battery to something like a busbar and then run individual wires from the busbar to separate terminals in a fuse box and then on to different components, (hope this makes sense).

The bit I'm stuck on is that the busbar that I'm looking at is rated in amps (15 continuous and 20 intermittent, I will have two 100 watt spots on one fuse so will the busbar be o.k for this .

thanks

http://www.renewableedge.com/calculate_volts_amps_watts.html

More than I can get my head around after a few Guinness!

If it were me, if the busbar looks thicker/chunkier (both scientific electrical terms) than the wires going on to it I'd think you'd be fine.. but I did just admit I've been drinking so take that opinion with caution... Smile

15 amps at 12 volts is 180 watts (15x12)

200 watts at 12 volts is 16.66666 amps (200/12)

Battery voltage when the engine is running is 13.2 volts which'll bring the amps required for the spots to 15.15...

Big thanks to both of you

Also found that a few shots of J.D gave me the same results before and after, if a bit wavy Very Happy
