Hi Guys,
I'm new to the forum. Have to say I am impressed with the fountain of knowledge on board.
I wonder if you can shed any light for me.
I have diesel running off the back of the engine just under the starter motor.
I cant seem to find any obvious leak. The engine runs great and no chuffing from the injectors.
I have replace the return fuel rail up to where it leaves the no 5 injector.
I couldnt find wher it goes after that? so didnt replace the last bit.
I'm running a Grand Cherokee 2.7 crd wj 2002 any info greatly appreciated.
cheers,
Tony.

I would expect the leak-off pipe to return to the top of the fuel filter. Worth tracing it back and changing it if you can.
Have you worked on any of the injectors recently? If there is an injector O ring leaking (they are known to get brittle), the fuel from a leak tends to run to the rear of the engine and down the back.
Richard.

If the fuel filter connections are not leaking then check the fuel return 'leak line' that runs from each injector back to the fuel supply. The connectors (located at each injector) are plastic and bake away under the engine covers, eventually becoming brittle and subject to breakage.
