The reason why your rear axle is off centre is because your Panhard Rod is now too short for the amount you have lifted your suspension.
You can get adjustable ones that will allow you to get your axle back in the centre

I would like to see where you are going with this and in return I will share with you a little inside info.
There seems to be an issue on the brush carriers on the makita, the carbon brush goes through a rectangular tunnel to the armiture, the brass tunnel is surrounded by an inductor that looks like a spring, this is burning out on the newer 9" version, however I use bosch so don't have that problem, so let's supose I have access to this stuff where are we going?

the vit does not have a panhard rod, so if axle off centre then it must be the spring seats and trailing arms not right
.
seems odd

Me neither, I bought cheap crappy 4.5" Ryobi ones thinking for less than £20 if they beak it wont matter...still going strong years later!!

I was mostly having a laugh..but seriously with a bit of understanding on how suspension works and some basic fabrication knowledge there is little need for people to be spending on stuff like you posted from fleabay. I like making my own bits as I get a real sense of satisfaction when its finished and working!

I would like to keep the vehicle on the road and not have to go down the Q plate route although it may come to that.
