I'm having trouble getting the wipers to park properly at the bottom of the windscreen on my defender
I've put a new gear in the wiper box ( the big cog) and new wheel boxes, new rack rod, but it still seems to want to stop in the vertical on the windscreen not at the bottom horizontal, wot am I missing/doin wrong??
this is really beginning to do me in, help please I'm thick

Usually the cure for this is to clean the tracks on the back of the big gear wheel but since you've changed it....

You're looking for an electrical fault rather than a mechanical one

The park position of the wipers is controlled by a cam on the back of the large gear. So take off the front cover and remove the circlip that holds the large gear in position and remove the gear - you will then see the small cam that operates the microswitch which switches off the current to the wipers thus allowing them to park in the correct place. You probably have an incorrect gear- you need the correct gear because there is only one motor which has to cope with both LHD and RHD plus a variety of different vehicle fitments - this is done by changing that gear.

If it's the same type of wiper set up as my kit car then you can swap the said cam from one side to the other to get the wipers to park on the other side.
P.s. my kit is a gbs zero there may be some info on the owners forum on how to do it.
