simplest L200 lift kit

Hey folks have a 2002 L200 crewcab pickup which i'm making into an arb truck, I want to raise the suspension as much as possible without major modifications. Just watched a vid on youtube by Snake Racing Australia, basically two 50mm spacers for the top of the front struts, extended shackles for the rear, longer shocks and brake lines. what are the pro's and cons of this mod, is it legal, can you get a bigger lift from the same idea, and are there any suppliers in the UK that do similar kits? much appreciated

The problem with this type of lift, which does work and is legal, is that you alter the steering symmetricy, including, but not limited to the camber so that you run on the inside of your tyres, quickly wearing them out. Plus you will be putting a loading on your CV joints - running them at an angle that they are not meant to be run at...

Doing a body lift on the new shape L200 is not so easy as doing one on the classic either - you will need to modify the steering linkage on anything above 2" (50mm)

Actually if you have a 2002 that is a classic - are you sure you have springs on the front and not a torsion bar?

The same problems occur when you wind up the torsion - camber out, loading on your CV joints.

Body lift is easier though, up to 4" without a problem - only other modification is extended brake hoses and bending your transfer and gear lever forwards

thanks Xpajun, are there any complete lift kits on the market that would suit? I don't mind the handling issues as the truck will rarely see 50 mph, but don't want to be throwing tyres and cv boots at it every six months.

Any of the mega kits here are complete kits including everything you should need to finish the lift
