Hi,

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I have a 2004 Terios which I have become quite attached to, however, doing some of the green lanes it would appear low range would be of benefit. I'm sure I have seen on here somewhere the Sportrak gearbox would fit. Is this correct? Any ideas on getting low range on the Terios appreciated.
(No, I'm not allowed a Landy etc, and not wanting a Jimny. Would like to sort the Terios as want to be different!)
Cheers

Evening.
Would it be possible to keep the original gearbox, and exchange the transfer box from the Sportrak?
All help / suggestions appreciated.

Think you were messaging me, just in case anyone else was thinking of this. The front diff on a terios is on the passenger side where as the sportrak is on the drivers side. I was going to fit low box to mine but ended up selling it on, what you have to do is make new mount brackets and move the diff to the drivers side then swap drivers side shaft to passengers and vise versa. The other thing I was going to do was turbo the engine to give it more power rather than putting a low box in, I found the engine didn't have enough torque to pull the car up big hills really. If you Google turbo conversion yaris 1.3 you will find the info on how to do it as the later terios ran a yaris engine form I think 2000 onwards. Hope this helps

May look into the turbo route, the low box is beyond my ability. Cheers
