Hi.
I tried to search the forum, but didn't find the answer I searched for.
I have a 1997 terrano, which won't start. It turns over, but no ignition. So I guess it's the immobilizer. But I'm not sure if I have nats 1 or 2. I have the key fob with black and red button, but I also have a red chip in my key.
I think I located the immobilizer unit by the steering column, but it have 3 plugs going in to it. It's an Siemens 5WK4 661 unit.
So, do I have the nats 1, which I can bypass? Or do I have nats 2, and can basically just give up at once?

Sorry I don't know a lot about immobilisers but start from the beginning.... more info (and pictures) tends to get more responses around here
Was it behaving its self up to the point it wont start? In daily use?
is it petrol or diesel?
have you checked the other obvious things; fuel/plugs/compression..etc...?
any signs of life at all or is it just spinning over?

I will upload pictures later, got them on my phone atm.
Its a 2.7tdi. The engine have always ran fine, started easy. But once in a while when it haven't been used in a while, it won't start. it turns over, but no other signs of life. As I remember, there's some extra lights in the dashboard when this happens, and at the end, even the hazards are on. It's my uncles car, actually, and I'm trying to help him. He did some "playstation" trick which was supposed to reprogram the key, and normally that have worked.
But not this time.
I have googled the problem, and searched at this forum, and from what I can find, the problem is the immobilizer. Tried to give 12v+ to the fuel pump solenoid, but that didn't do anything...
