ok so me and my mate have the idea of building a grand cherokee with Quadra-Drive into a US style v8 monster
want to lift it as much as possible with big tyers etc
what is the 4WD system like in hard situations. ive seen the vids but do they break? diffs, axles whatever?
engine good (ish) with water slashes or fording?
ANY info will be helpful
cheers

Hi
I’ve had a diesel WJ for 15 years plus, I did some gentle off roading years ago, the only mod was higher profile off road tyres.
The 4WD system seems ok although the rear diff is possibly the weak link. If you’re lifting it then keep an eye on the CV rubber boot on the rear end of the front prop.
You may find more info at www.jeepforum.com

I had an original mk1 Cherokee
Loved it.
Never managed to break a diff, or that much at all come to think of it.
