Dear All

I have shogun / pajero lwb mk1. All standard.

What do I need to add a front winch to it. Will I need to get a new bumper for it?

Whilst I'm at it, what is the score for adding a rear winch. Do I need new bumpers again.

Thanks in advance

Wow that's a lot for one post! Yes, you will definitely need either new bumpers or mods to the ones you've got, and probably mods to the chassis rails to make the mountings strong enough. Fuel tank would be in the way of rear winch mounting aswell... not a lot of help straight away I know, but I hope this is a start...

You need stronger mounts for sure. It's up to you if you try fit it behind the current bumper or make a bespoke heavy duty one. It depends what you want to use the car for. If it's just occasional winching then it looks neater behind the standard bumper but if it's more heavy offroading a steel bumper will also protect your bodywork.

What are you going to use the winch for? If you can get away with a smallish winch you can get trays for them with big handles on so you can move the winch from front to back. That way you only need one winch and to mound a decent receiver front and back.

Chassis mount points will be strong enough for front and rear winch bumpers - it's a Shogun guys not a disco or Zuke.

You will need at least a winch tray although a winch bumper would be better if
