Just had this from another forum:

Staffordshire University on behalf of the Welsh Government is currently trying to evaluate the impact of land management interventions, made by land owners but paid for by taxpayers in Wales, and to assess whether they improve the quality of the overall landscape.

They have developed a survey which includes the question “What are your main reasons for visiting the countryside?” and then offers several options for selection. It does not recognise green laning as an activity connected with visiting the countryside. However, there is a box for “Other (please specify)” Putting green lane driving as reason will put that right.

On my system it doesn't work on Firefox but does with Chrome.

Works for me with Firefox.

An important aspect of greenlaning is that it is the only access to the countryside for disabled people who cannot walk footpaths. The ramblers usual reply to this that disabled people can use country parks. But country parks are not countryside, they are bits of contryside that have been urbanised, therefore destroying the countryside aspect. But do you think this matters an iota to the selfish ramblers etc. who want the countryside for their own exclusive use?

I would love to walk footpaths with my nearest and dearest but I can't because she is unable so the next best is to drive a greenlane and stop where it is possible to enjoy the environment, but ramblers, the selfish lot they are object to that because I have to use a vehicle to take her there. Locally, ramblers have prevented all access to greenlanes and the countryside on this basis.
