Hi everyone I have a bit of a problem. There is a 1993/4 2.7td Terrano which hasnt been run for at least a year and I can't get it to start. The ignition barrel was removed and then refitted (the same one) and the engine will sometimes turn over and sometimes it just clicks, it seems random. When it does turn over it doesn't fire. Not sure if fuel is reaching the injectors as I cannot get it to reliably turn over. The battery in it started my 2.8 Fourtrak fine and the terrrano seems to turn over at a good speed when it works that is.
Could the ignition barrel be the problem or should i just put new fuel in bleed it and try again?
Edit: Im just trying to get the engine running as its being swapped into another terrano is hotwiring a possibilty?

You need to check there is power going to the fuel stop solenoid on the injector pump, and to the glow plugs.
Easy enough to hotwire. With the battery heavy wire to the starter, run a new small wire to the small terminal on the starter solenoid. Touch the other end to the battery + and the engine should turn.Power to the stop valve and glow plugs and it should go.
PS.The mav engine in my Navara was laid up for 4-5 yrs before I got it and it fired up immediately without bleeding etc. Just needed the glow plugs and stop solenoid connected.
