I've bought a new truck which has a high rise exhaust at the rear (. Pickup. )
However I'm very fussy and would like one coming up both ends to keep it even. However the radiator would in between them so plumbing / custom will be a pain in the a** ££££ .
I was tempted to put. 2. Fake exhaust on and have the current one stopping at the top of the pickup so still looks like 2 high rise but the real one is actually lower down (. But still high enough to keep water out.
I'm thinking if I put 1 fake it would look silly if smokes only coming from 1 ?
If I was to shorten the current exhaust would it get louder or is it only the boxes that make it quieter and not the length of pipe?
Can anyone help

It's the wrong crowd for fake exhausts
It should shorten as the boxes are indeed the critical bit. You can hit a harmonic if you are unlucky. If there is an expansion box followed by a silencer you can pretty much abuse the hell out of the rest, as long as the bends flow nicely.

i'd leave it as is, no point in extra exhausts, even if they do join up to original.... would it make more power or torque? nope... so not needed

I leave a box a jam doughnuts on the seat when I drop my cars off for MOT, it sorts out most minor problems

10 pack of larger works too.
In fact, most major problems are also overlooked with that.
