Too many to mention but here's a small selection in no particular order:
Driving a 1973 VW 1303 Beetle Baja conversion on the A1 c1988 in a strong cross wind when I overtook a lorry just as we cam out of a cutting. The combined blast of side wind from the lorry and the weather made the VW flip onto 2 wheels AND spin round to face the faster moving traffic behind me. The car spun onto the, luckily, wide central reservation and I brought it to a halt. I couldn't walk for about 15 minutes!
Driving the Alldays on the first event after getting the new body made and discovering the brakes were all but useless as a came down a hill on a road that crosses the A75 as two 18 wheelers cam from opposite directions on the A75. My SO was reminded of the true meaning of a jump seat as I desperately tried to slow our approach enough so we wouldn't be crushed by the lorries.
Coming round a sharp bend on my Suzuki 1200 Bandit to find a van coming round the bend in the opposite direction well over the white line. I was fully committed but managed to lift my head enough to only scuff the van's mirror with my skid lid.

Steering a 38' Bedford YMT bus with no brakes being towed by a wrecker on a solid bar over the woodhead pass (Sheff to Manc over the peaks) where the wrecker brakes failed, with the wrecker being driven be a frigging idiot.
Stopped in Glossop by driving into the back of a coach.
Yes I know air brakes fail 'on' but recovery trucks don't need MOT's, or limiters.

heading out of Looe heading south riding a Suzuki XN85 turbo.
had the ex wife on the back and was stuck behind a few quarry trucks and tourist coaches. struggling up the hill.thought i was in third, and dropped it into second to spool the turbo up and nip past them.
i was in second.
the turbo kicked in, the front went skyward and i slid backwards on the seat opening the throttle further.
all i could do was keep changing gear until the weight overcame the acceleration and the front end dropped.
at which point i was confronted with two tractors stopped on the bend on opposite sides of the road chatting.
still dont know how i got through.

riding a Honda XL185s back from Port Stanley to Mount Pleasant after a blizzard warning.
now theres 8 foot deep ditches on each side of the road to catch the mines that blow about in the wind.
there had been a blizzard a few days before so the ditches were still full of snow.
after about 10 Miles, the blizzard hit and it was all i could do to keep going.
the last i remember is the front wheel disappearing.
turns out i had ridden nose first into one of the ditches and they only found me because the bike stayed vertical and the bedford that i had passed a few miles before saw the back light sticking out of the snow.

Mine
Being the "driver" of a salvage XR2 being towed (on a bit of string) from the breakers home, It didn't steer well at all due to the damage and the driver of the tow car was a banger racer you known the type flat out everywhere, no fear, no one else on the road existed
Driving a 1930something Austin 10 my dad had just bought to add to his collection - I had to stop close to the top of a steep hill on a narrow lane. brakes would not hold it from rolling backwards Seat ripped out of the wooden floor from my efforts pushing the brake pedal making matters a little worse!!!!! As I gained speed in my unwanted reverse the road was getting steeper i somehow managed to keep it away from the walls each side of me - attempted to use the engine to stop it but getting it in gear and reverse wasn't happening. Managed to stop evenually and then had to drive it back up!
My dad had bought the car from his mate who was a trader and fancied something old, then decided he didn't like it as the brakes where a bit rubbish - I was told afterwards......
It had a recent MOT- I rang the garage and spoke to the tester- he said it was fine old cars brakes hardly work anyway!
Had complete brake failure a couple of other times and survived without a scratch.
Steering failure was interesting - don't fancy dealing with that again.

ahh, if we aint limited to roads, i hit a huuuuuge patch of sink coming off he ridge at wendover and had to drop a Grob Twin II diagonally onto a rugby pitch, avoiding the trees and the canal bridge. not easy with no engine and a 40 knot stall speed.....
same thing landing the grob viking T2 at RAF Catterick. only just cleared the Christian Salverson truck on the Main road.......
must take up Gliding again

My first balls up - SINK. And on my first solo - nearly ended up in the pond at the end of the SPAM course. Thank heavens for an engine, somehow made the noise worth it, but the peace and silence of a glider - golden as they say.
