Hi all.
Been looking on here for a while now but havnt got around to writing out the build.
I bought this a few years ago and have been competing in trials events.
[
It has a 1600 vitara engine and a welded front diff, did okay with it but it kept falling over.
It's now got to the point where the body (rear tub in particular) is a bit bent and mangled so I thought it was time to chop it off and build some kind of trayback.
I've also got fed up of changing shafts and cvs after most events (only 410 running gear) so I've sourced some land rover axles with series diffs to go on it which should help with the breakages and make it a bit wider to help it stay on it's wheels.
I cut up the back end this afternoon and hope to make some more progress soon with a few days off work.
Pics to follow.

That's the first time I've ever heard anyone call Series axles an upgrade!
Though you cannot argue that they are super cheap in parts, available everywhere and very easy to work on too! But Series R&P Really are weak just so you know..

I do agree with what your are saying; I know they aren't the strongest axles going but equally they are cheap and lower geared than I originally had in the sj axles, would make it slightly wider too which will be handy,
If all else fails is use up my stash of discovery diffs and shafts if the series bits do prove troublesome.
