Adventure trip

Hi guys.

Me and a few friends have seen the likes of the Camel Trophy that was and the Malaysian Rain Forrest Challenge and thought we would like a go at something like that. We (or at least I) recognise we are probably not fit enough, our vehicles not prepped enough, our wives not understanding enough and our pockets not deep enough to tackle three weeks on the other side of the world.

I was wondering if there are any similar, but easier to access events in Europe, where the emphasis is getting from one place to another over a series of days with the odd competitive element. I know there are "sight seeing type trips" that promise not to damage your vehicle and are family friendly. But we want a bigger challenge than that, where a winch will probably be needed on occasion and we might have to scrape past a few trees along the way.

Any ideas?
