I used to do this years ago but can't remember what I used and it's probably all changed anyway, so;
What the easiest way to rip a DVD to DivX? Basically the kids have got some DVD players that they sometimes use in the car / caravan but you have to mess about hanging them on the seat, running the wire to the cigarette lighter, then every time you turn the engine off the player turns on then starts again at the beginning of the dvd, then I dont like to leave them in sight incase someone breaks a window to take them as then you have to hang around to get the window fixed etc etc. Basically they're a pain!
So I won a little nexus 7 which I have put a divx player on and I want to be able to rip their DVDs into DivX and put on the nexus 7.
Obviously a free program is better but I don't mind buying if it's a good program that will do what I want without much messing about.

Nero Vision express, or Nero re-code 9, don't bother with the free stuff unless you have lots of time and patience.

I did have a quick look at that, I didn't really want to get into all these torrents etc for the obvious reasons, there were websites where you could buy them but some of them looked a bit iffy, I'll probably give it a go next time I want something new.
Cheers for the above recommendation I will take a look.
