Can't find it in my manual! Also if I just remove it completely is it still a fail ?

I don't know where the fuse is - if there is one - usually (for me that is) it's the fog light itself that is the problem or a broken wire between it and the switch - have you power at the switch?
As for the second part of your question yes it is a fail

I have power at the switch yes on further research I don't think there is a fuse and it's just a faulty light which Dosent Bode well for my retest in the morning, also while playing with fuses/the light I lost all power and wouldn't start.

sorted it, was just a loose plug near the battery and the bulb had gone in the fog light which is plugged into the demister (obviously) because my tailgate was cut in half therefore fills with water when it rains. thanks!
