One of the really good things about Satnavs is that they don't argue with you or nag incessantly - until now.
My TomTom has voice control, which is great, but sometimes she (I've set it to a female voice so I will call it she) starts talking to me without me having to activate voice control. She says "I'm listening" (which at the risk of being shot at dawn is not really a female trait) which is OK but then after a while she starts asking if I want to go home or stop somewhere on route (the latter comment conjures up suggestive thoughts and could get me in deep poo if I happen to be on the phone (hands free) to her indoors at the time!). I can turn off voice control either by voice or manually but after a while she comes back on again. Maybe she is listening to the radio and thinks something she heard is the command to switch on, but on the other hand is there some sort of anti male activity here and this is just the thin edge of the wedge to intruduce satnavs that mimic SWMBO and nag!

That's funny, my Garmin did exactly the same thing yesterday (for the first time) my immediate reply was "what?" Or maybe "wtf?"
I reckoned it must have been the music - I hadn't said a word...
I can understand your concern - the female of the species can be unforgiving if they should hear another female inviting you to stop and inspect the scenery

Very amused by that!
Was thinking of getting one with that feature...
...maybe not now.
Or I'll get one for Mrs NB and let her argue in the car with the SatNav

Voice commands are getting better but they're still not all that. Siri used to do some really random things and the S system on samsung is about the same. Usually getting you stuck in a converation with someone you don't want to talk to but don't want to tell them that. Nothing wrong with buttons!
My favouries were;
Me "Whats the meaning of life?"
Siri "To ask questions like this" (best answer I've ever heard )
Me "Should I buy an I phone or a samsung?"
Siri: "I'm loyal to apple but that's just the way I'm made"
Me "What does the fox say?"
Samsung "A ring ding ding ding ding ding" (but in a really naff computery voice)
