I know I should be happy, I've just sold the 101 for a reasonible profit, but I'm sad to see it going.
Despite not getting the use out of it I'm going to miss it sitting out the back in work, showing it off and taking it the odd run round the block.
At least it's going to a good home and I can always say I owned one.
Question is, what should I buy now?

I sold the Volvo more than 5 years ago (I think) and on some levels I still regret it for basically the same reasons.
If I had the cash I would immediately buy another one and NOT dick around with it (too much) even if I only drove it 500 miles per year.
Note: I don't have the cash

My instant regret was buying art. An Eastern European student knocked on the door selling her art to fund her education. She spoke with a very sexy Eastern European accent and when she held the paintings up they looked stunning. I bought one thinking it would be the crowning jewel of my living room wall, a real talking point at gatherings on the social calendar, however I didn't realise that she was also a magician as when I held it up to show my wife it was utter tripe, it was of the same subject but had somehow lost that little spark that drew me to purchase it.
The only saving grace is being a Yorkshireman even those little sparks weren't enough to stop me from getting the price down to 20% of what she was asking!

My other regret was selling my plasma cutter, someone kept badgering me to sell it and I hadn't used it for ages so eventually agreed using the money to buy a a set of 80 series axles for the landy... And I could really do with a plasma cutter to make the brackets. Do-h!

Should have kept the 101 and put a Harvey Frost in the rear and used it for recovery.

I know how you feel. I inherited a valuable antique gold watch - a hunter with all the desireable features. Unfortunately it had a weak spring and it was only winding the watch and a weak bladder that kept me busy. Now all I have to do is fill in my tax return!

On my vehicle bucket list:
Oldsmobile curved dash (1899 -)
Almost any Arrol Johnson, Napier or Argyll up to 1915
Any pre 1920 Rolls Royce
Any pre 1935 Bugatti, Aston Martin or Lagonda
A red MGTC TD or TF of the 40s or 50s
AC Cobra
Porsche 911 of the mid to late 1960s (non turbo)
VW Beetle, 1500 of the late 60s
VW Camper, split window, double barn door with pop top
Real Mini Clubman or Cooper S
Lancia HF Integrale
Audi Quattro (original one)
For a daily drive: LR110 late model with a BFO engine and auto box
And I've not even started on commercials of the 1950s or motorbikes

Having thought about it, and looked out the window, you should replace the 101 with a DUKW or a schwimwagen.

I quite fancy a Sugga radio car but they seem to be hen's teeth. Although a 2.8i Capri would be nice.

I'm a simple soul at heart...
...if a can't have a 70s Aston Martin V8 Volante then a 70s 2 door Range Rover would do
