Looking at trading in my mountain bike for somehting more capable for the road.

Been to my local bike shop today and best bang for my buck in my price range (inc part ex) is the Python ZX2

Just wandered if anyone has any first hand experience with them?

Thanks

Henry

A python? Yes, excellent for exercise - just run like hell if you see one of those snakes. I saw one once on the north Yorkshire moors, me and my mate had just left the pub and we tripped over something and my mate said it was the biggest snake he had ever seen - it bit his bum and left a nasty gash. I was lucky but I got over the barbed wire fence, where the python bit my mate, just before he did.

OK that's two out of how many thousand? There are always some strange people on forums.

We all have 4x4s for a reason, mainly because we're too idle to walk anywhere.......................

I bought my first car in 1989. Within 3 months I had put on 2stone in weight...

Mainly because I could drive into town and buy pizza...

Amusing comments!

I used to ride a lot before i could drive, i suppose it was my only mode of transport. Wouldnt mind getting back into it, its cheap and good for you!

I've recently got my pushbike out the shed and lost half a stone in a few weeks and feel many times better for it, and it's improved my off roading!

I've got an inexpensive Claude Butler 'hybrid' which is half way between a mountain bike and a road bike. It has straight handlebars, front suspension (saddle stem suspension as well) and gear more for road and track than pure road or off road. It cost me £300 about 5 years ago.

it's light and robust and great for some mid distance work but harder on the hills and not as comfy.
