|
|
|
Well folks it's that time of year again
The 20th drumclog event has been booked for The weekend of 25th APRIL 2014
This also happens to be the 10th anniversary of this event so i will have a few things planned to mark the 10 years.
Where have the years gone?
All information is below, please make sure you EMAIL ME (info at bottom of this post) to book as i need to know the numbers to expect for organising toilets, burgervan etc.
The cost is £30 per day per vehicle or £70 for the entire weekend (fri/sat/sun) all passengers are free. (the revised price now includes the price of the porta loos)
The site at Drumclog is situated just south of Glasgow(see directions below) consists of 1500 acres and has terrain to suit everyone, you can have a relatively easy drive around the site or you can go try out the more difficult and usually VERY muddy parts of the site,it is very unlikely that you will cover the whole site during your weekend, after 16 drumclog events and various other visits i still find bits that i haven't been on before.
This really is an excellent site for offroading and the event is more than worth the journey ,meeting people from all over the Uk and socialising in the evenings is a huge part of it and makes the event what it is.
As usual you will be allowed to turn up to Drumclog from Friday morning onwards, camping will still be FREE and you will be allowed to stay at the campsite until Monday if you need to. Partners, feral children, dogs (under control) all welcome.
We ask that you tidy up behind yourselves by taking away any rubbish that can't be burnt at the fire.
On the subject of fire,we no longer have our wood supplier so if any of you have wood for the fire feel free to take it along with you,we NEED our bonfire.
There might be a catering van onsite to feed us if we have enough numbers.
This really is a brilliant event and you will go home having had a fantastic time.
There are plenty pics of the site on difflock if you do a search.
To book your space you will have to email me at NaughtyT1@hotmail.co.uk (don't forget to add this email address to your contact lists to prevent any correspondence ending up in your junk mail). Please DO NOT try to book via pm because it will be ignored.
In your email could you please include:
Name and Username:
Address:
Contact Number:
Emergency Contact name and number:
After you have emailed me these details i will email you back within 7days to confirm your booking.
The rules will be kept as relaxed as possible,in the past we have had a few incidents of non payment or blatant disregard of safety,if you do not think you can follow a simple set of rules or if you intend to just turn up to the event to cause trouble or to try and get a weekends off roading without paying then please think again.ANYONE matching this description will be asked to leave the event and will not be allowed to attend these Drumclog events again!!
This is a fun and friendly event and we want it kept that way!!!!!
Tracey Fraser
Please send any enquiries to NaughtyT1@hotmail.co.uk
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Directions to 'Clog:
From England.
Go to Scotland
M74 Junction 8 follow signs to Kilmarnock on A71. (Try to resist coming off at 9) Then it's Stonehouse then Strathaven all on A71.
In Drumclog village turn left right after the Church with the Steeple onto the B745.
When this road goes sharp left then over a bridge you go straight on and through the gate you are on Drumclog.
Campsite is on the left about 400/500 yards in.
Canny miss it - even the Irish sometimes get there!

The quarrying has started so our old campground (rather than the old old one) has gone but we have the use of a field before the entrance to the site. On the plus side it is flatter and nicer but on the downside it can be very slippy getting in and out.
The site itself is quite battered and rutted and in some ways more of a winch fest than a driving experience with some of the more popular sections very very easy indeed. That said there are still vast tracts of undiscovered and unused land, gullies that have never been used and a whole area near the reservoir that I think I'm the only one to have traversed (whilst planning the Scotia at Drumclog as a fall back) so mucho fun still to be had.
Ian Sneddon is likely to set up one of his wee punch/treasure hunts and maybe Colin and I (with the twistedly able assistance of the rest of the SWCC team) might set up a couple of Scotia standard Challenge Sections as well.
It will be brilliant.

Right you horrible lot,i have just spoke with Fiona and we can have the burgervan all of Saturday and then it will be moved to the moto X track so if you want breakfast on Sunday you are welcome to go round but please take your time as there are alot of people moving around.
Toilets are ordered, please try to keep them as tidy as possible.
The camping area is the same one we used in September (field on the left hand side before you reach Gordons house.
The gate on the track will remain locked all weekend but we will have access via a gate in the field that goes behind Gordons house then you can get access to the whole offroad area.
This is good news for me because it means everyone HAS to come through the carpark and can't avoid paying. PLEASE PAY ME ON ARRIVAL (or if you are there before me on the Friday pay as soon as you find me) as i hate having to chase people for money before i leave on a sunday.
PLEASE ALL KEEP YOUR SPEED DOWN IN THE CAMPING AND PARKING AREAS THERE ARE CHILDREN AND ANIMALS ROAMING FREE THAT ARE NOT LOOKING OUT FOR YOU THERE IS PLENTY GROUND TO PLAY ON SO ITS NOT MUCH TO ASK THAT WE HAVE ONE SAFE AREA!!
We no longer have a supplier for fire wood so feel free to take some with you if you have, and collect any you see lying around the site while you are out n about for our Saturday night gathering.
Again can i ask if you have any donations for a wee charity auction on the saturday night then bring them along, all donations gratefully received no matter how small! And bring plenty cash to spend at the auction.
We will also have a selection of annivarasry tshirts for sale (Graeme Lornie is dealing with those) and stickers too
There will also be a wee fun punch hunt organised by Ian Sneddon for a small entry fee (all monies to charity)
Most of all be safe and have fun.
