Hi,
I am doing a home-spun rewire on my 1959 S2 Land Rover. I am changing the moving coil fual gauge to the later bi-metal strip type. That meant buying a new tank sender, gauge, and resistor. It's thye resistor that is causing me problems.
There are two double blade terminals. One male double and one female double WHY? There is nothing to indicate which is positive or negative.
Are they male/female because the current direction is critical, and if so which is positive?
Or is it to make sure that blokes like me fit both gauges to the output terminal?
I will try to post a piccy.

The resistor should obviously have a known resistance. Since resistors are indeed directional if you use an electrical multi meter on the resitance setting you should get a reading one way but not the other.
I take it there are no instructions ?
If you can get a resistance reading try a local electronics firm and see if they can help or try the Series 2 Owners Club

Resistors are not directional you can use them anyway around - resistors can be compared to a tap - they reduce the flow
Diodes on the other hand are directional - diodes compare to a check valve (on way valve) on a water circuit the allow water flow in one direction only.
It will not matter which way around the resistor is wired - they are probably male female to allow you to join the two wires together to take the resistor out of the circuit.
Double pole terminals - perhaps that is all they stock to make their parts up with...

Or maybe it's for two gauges?
Temperature and fuel?
