I managed to get a vitara commercial bellhousing cheap, what else do I need to fit the 1.9td engine?

I was looking at the kits that have the engine mount for the commercials, I phoned Suzuki and they want £206 incl vat just for the mount Shocked

what clutch do people use, and if doing the conversion yourself did you have to machine the backing plate for the vitara clutch? or could I buy a clutch kit for the commercial and bolt that to the xud flywheel/backing plate and that would be it?

XUD flywheel is different to commercial flywheel.

You will also need a spigot bearing to go in to end of crank available from main dealer or give me a shout if you struggle to get one.

am I also right in thinking that if I use a 1.6 16V clutch I will need to have the pug flywheel to a machine shop for them to redrill to allow my vitara clutch to fit?

I will see if I can dig out the spigot bearing tomorrow 16 outer 10 inner sounds about right.
Not done conversion myself only know flywheel is different because clutch went on my commercial and I compared it to xud when it was out seem to remember xud was much bigger dia.

I have a complete conversion kit for a Vit, but I don't think I used the engine mounts etc (not a Vit)....I will check and let you know and we can sort something out if you're interested. Smile

16 mm od, 10mm id, and I think 16 mm long. They're about a pound from the bearing place near my work, but will need the flange machining off. Give me a shout if you struggle, I'll pick one up and machine it for you. I've got to do one anyway as I need to replace the engine in my commercial.
