personlally landirenzo is about the worst u can get voltran usually just make lpg associated electronics like solenoid valves have never seen a voltran sgi kit ? however this does not mean to say that u are wrong.

prins is about one of the best as the injectors have a lifetime guarantee.
im a tartarini installer and it comes with 2 years warranty parts and labour but if prins is out ur bracket the tartarini will be also. fi ur looking to do the conversion urself then omvl is about the best stuff u can buy without going on someones training course. be weary of people who fit these cheaper kits though as usually they fit them because they dont wanna do any proper training. the likes of taratrini and prins will not sell unless uve been on their course and there happy u can fit properly.
avoid romano like the plague i fitted a romano onto my mates astra because he didnt wanna pay real money and its been nothing but trouble misfiring when cold and bringing the engine light on.

i would fit if i couldnt fit tartarini in order of preferance.
1. bigas
2. omvl
3. zavoli this one being a last resort. as they still use a old matrix style injection system which gives trouble with todays dirty gas however the electronics are good and the rail is servicable.

Have to add that Zavoli s.e.i. can come with either Matrix or own-brand injectors as options. Fitted both varieties, no particular problems with them. Why both? The Zavoli own-brand ones are a tad cheaper, but due to higher current draw not suited for use on "banked" or non-sequential engines - RR V8 3.5/3.9/4.2 for instance. They're fine for 4.0/4.4/4.6. Sometimes there's more to it than meets the eye Wink

BRC is another supplier of systems of perceived quality - at a cost, and not likely to be of interest to DIYers.

Romano/Zavoli/OMVL/BiGas all use the same basic electronic system, but the other hardware varies. Every system has good and bad points, every installer has had good and bad experiences.

For example, my impression of Voltran is "cheap'n'nasty" - but then I've only ever been brought sick systems, for all I know there are loads running around with no problem that I'll never see. Or not !?!!

What's "best" all depends on what you have, how many years you're likely to run it, etc.

'Fraid I always smile when the "What's best?, but I want it cheap!" comes up. Pays yer money and takes yer choice Smile

Embarassed now to run a shameless advert ... google for Blaze LPG - not the cheapest but you may pick up useful background info.

cheers, Ross K.

must admit ive only ever seen busted voltran stuff. brc is ok but ive never seen a properly installed system they all seem to just throw them on and make it work send it out, not the right attitude for lpg installation.
romano is just the pits and isnt even that cheap to buy compared with other far better systems.

id still go with bigas theyll sell to anyone come with instructions for fitting if u dont know what ur doing they use rail type injectors so if u get a sticky one u can find it easily and the electronics is up to the job.

when did zavoli start with diffrent injector rails i was speaking to hkl gaspower the other week and they didnt mention it to me?

Getting a bit off-topic now Smile but anyways at least 18mth-2yr ago. From HKL or Jaymic. Called 'Pan' injectors, dunno why, the manufacturer perhaps. Nicely engineered individual injs, they can be bolted together to form compact rails of 2-3-4 etc units. I'd imagine on some engines you could fit direct into manifold with a grommet; never tried it. Never had a failure yet, but as I said only for true sequential cars due to limitations in the ECU drivers; so we use Zavoli with Matrix rails for banked systems like RR 4.2 - and no, never had a matrix type fail either.

cheers, Ross K

never had a matrix type fail but they mis fire like mad when they get a bit of dirt in them and there a nut ache to clean with that tinfoil like bit inside.
them pan injectors are almost the same as the bigas fast injectors. have never seen them with zavoli stuck on them though. still would fit tartarini to any car i ever own copes the best ive ever seen with dirty gas has a proper self diagnostic feature which the others have tried to copy but even when its fooked says its ok, the switch is the best looking and smallest fitting, configures at idle, has the best mapping scope bar none can alter the fueling at every single rev range and load position, theres just sooo many options inside the software that ive just never seen even on the prins stuff it just makes even the most problem cars a doddle to convert.

I used to have a landy with a Tartarini systems but I now have a 4x4 turbo car. What would be the best system to use and are injectors on the manifold better than a rail for this kind of conversion. I am not getting much info from some of the dedicated LPG forums

any sequential system will run a turbo just some do it better than others i prefer tartarini because it has sooo many features that the rest dont have to iron out any problems that can arise when mapping cars especially turbos but then some cars just run perfect streight away. just make sure if ur gonna atempt it urself u specify to who ever u buy the kit from its for a turbo because they usually supply what i know as super rails basically high flow and a high out put regulator apart from that the kit is generally the same and u must get the gas nozels as close to the inlet as humanly possible ive done cars and had flat spots on them and its purely down to injector positioning.

Hi that is what I thought about the injectors but some installers seem to think that it does not matter if the pipes from the injectors to the nozzles do not have to be all the same length. that was why i would prefer a system that has the injectors fitted to the manifold but I assume this would depend if there was enough room for the injector to fit at the correct angle. The output of this engine will be approaching 320bhp with boost at about 14 to 16 psi. What system will cope with this or will it swap over to petrol if it cannot cope.

i know i keep harping on about tartarini but its what Ive used for over 10 years with the most success i know the latest prg reg will handle approx 300 bhp ish probably a bit more but you would need to find the proper bhp output as this is what determines the size of the nozzles and weather u use super or standard rails yes tartarini will switch back to petrol if it cannot keep up and the injector duration exceeds so many milliseconds then change back to gas when its returned to within normal working conditions it does this to prevent u from running the engine on a weak mixture which can damage the valves.
as for the pipes they dont have to be exactly the same lenght but its a good idea to get them the closest u can and also as short as possible is best.

Not sure there's much to hijack after 9 years! Hopefully some one will be about who knows a bit about gas systems to help you though Smile
