Hi,

I have been given a set of LWB Land Rover rims, I'd guess they were from a D110. How can I identify if they are tubed or tubless?

Paintwork is perfect across full width of the well. There are no rivets? Small valve hole. Metal seems thicker than I am used to.

If they are stamped ANR 4636 or NRC 7578, they require tubes, even the welded ones.If they are stamped RRC503600 5 1/2Jx16 TUBELESS, they don't require tubes as they have a safety hump built into them. You may find a set on the bay of E with tyres as 7.50-16 tyres won't fit the alloys most people fit.

602, if they are stamped ANR 4583 they are 6.5 inch wide Wolf military rims which are also suitable for tubeless tyres.

Hi Mr Tyre,

Thanks for that. I will have to eyeball the rims to see what I have got.

My impression, while carrying them from the car, was that they were wider than I expected, but its been years since I changed a tyre myself, so maybe wishfull thinking. They also seemed heavier than I expected, I only wanted to carry one at a time, but I'm getting old. And as I said, the metal round the valve holes seemed thicker than I expected.

I had the idea, don't where from, that Wolf wheels were "pierced".

The easy way would be to weigh them. Laughing I'll let you know the outcome.

Hi,

I tookma shufti, rims are stamped ANR4636.

Luckily the bloke who gave me the rims also handed me a sack of tubes.

Thanks for replies.

Er .... D110? My 1959 LWB S2 is sitting on 1986 D110 wheels with two very good, and two legal tyres, plus a barely legal spare. Also freebies, via www.FREECYCLE.co.uk.
