ive recently installed an adjustable bias valve on my sj following the rear disc conversion.. am curious about the legalities of it.. ive mounted the valve inside the cabin just to the right of the tbox lever on the side of the transmission tunnel and plan to box it in with a lockable lid. would this in any way come under mot tests or anything?? providing its safe, secure and non adjustable while driving itll be ok?

Might pay to check with someone who knows but I am pretty sure you will not need to even box it in. As long as the bias is set correctly then the MOT will not be an issue and it is only if you need an IVA / SVA test that you need worry.
I have sold the plumbing and valves for loads of rally cars and the whole idea is so that they can adjust the bias on the hoof if needs be....

Not heard of one before. How does this come into play off-road? Is it bias left-right or front-back?

usually front back, to eliminate rear wheel lock up when youa re lightly on the brakes going down a slippery incline due to lack of weight on the rear end.,
