Earlier in the year I received a free Disco 300TDi from a friend as it had been lying for a long time in their garden, was told it can be used as spares or repair. This week I put the battery from my current Discovery and put some fresh diesel in, it started and drove well in the field at the back of the house.

I know it had a few issues but wondering if it could be put back on the road again I put it into my local garage for an MOT (less than 100 yards from my home Very Happy ).

Couple of hours later I received it back with a fail sheet 5 pages long and mostly for corrosion.

Has anybody restored a car with this much corrosion? Or is it even fixable?

All fails were on the body with an advisory for brakes.

Part of me wants to restore but another part of me thinks it's transfer box would make a nice replacement for my other Discovery.

Really just looking for other peoples opinions, what would you do if it was yours?

No photos the now but could get some.

Personally I think there are enough discoveries to not waste your time, but that's just me! Smile

Break for parts or make a buggy.
