Super slow build but heres a Rough spec:

100" wheel base
Mog 404 axles
Rear steer
Lt230 transfer box with PTO
Centre mounted PTO winch with 1:1 line speed
Fox 14" air shocks on cant-levers
CDS tube throughout
3"creeper joints

Haven't decided on an engine yet, the easey option is 300tdi with r380 gearbox out of the disco but its not what I would call powerful and I want to keep this thing as light as I can and the v8 option would help but its finding one with the manual box. The other aspect to this truck is simplicity, its main winch is a mechanical one run from the gearbox, the diff locks from the mogs are mechanically operated and the suspension will be boring ol air shocks. The axles will be inline with the lower chassis rail, the thinking behind this is it will keep the truck as low as possible, the lowest part of any truck is the diff and I don't see a need for the belly to be any higher. May sound strange to some but the additional 6" of diff clearance I gain from the drop boxes will still give me the same(if not more) belly clearance as any other truck.

Anyway, this is the rough draft of the frame, I still need to change a few things but its almost there

And these are the chassis rails bent up and placed in the jig that I made

The tube bender I am using is a JD2 model 3 with a 2" die with a 7.5CLR
And I am using the bend tech pro software. I know that any frame can be built with a template and a concrete floor but I have very little free time and I thought that this would make it possible for me to design parts when ever I wanted and leave the workshop time for building. Can't recommend it enough

Nice! That winch looks quite lightweight, do you know what the gearing is? Wish I could TIG like that.. However I probably will never get that good at it seeing as I don't plan to buy a TIG welder again, when I had one it was so expensive on Argon that I got fed up with spending all my money on it. Seems to be a lot cheaper to MIG weld instead, but maybe I got something wrong?

Thanks mate!

It is light, all aluminium, 350mm drum, free spool all comes in at around 30-35kg...... Not sure, I can lift it no problem. I will try and get a bit more info on it

As for tig... I couldn't say, it's a bit of a learning curve for me. I was taught a lot in college but that was 7 years ago and when you take up a trade which has very little to do with what you studied you forget a lot. I remembered being good at college but I have clearly forgotten everything to do with it lol
