Morning all
Quick question, my front prop shaft busted on the axle end of my defender yesterday. I had a bit of a rush on as it was on a junction! Loads of fun.
I removed the prop and both hubs to free wheel the axle, at this point we decided to remove the rear prop also and tow her home.
My question is could I have driven it on the rear prop or would this damage the trans box?

Cheers all.

Front or rear is okay with the other prop removed unless it is a non-locking landy product.
(D2 manual describes how a spanner can be used to operate the get-you-home centre difflock)

if you removed the hub driving ends then it will allow lots of axle oil out & contaminate the tyre/road, just remove the busted prop & engage difflock, it won't do any harm, jusr drve carefully without harsh/hard acceleration.
