Some of you may remember Derek the muddyzook SJ as he was named from a few years ago, well today we began the rebuild!

His last outing was in April 2011 to Kurton for one of the Total Offroad Events where he just about managed to last the 4 days with daily rebuilds of this and that. There are a few pics of some of the damage here

With one thing and another he has sat since he rolled off the trailer and hasn't been touched since then Sad

So the list as far as I can remember from back then is as follows:-

Broken O/S rear spring
Broken O/S half shaft
Refit O/S rear wheel arch
Replace rear spring perches
Replace rear shocks
Rebuild front axle
Rebuild front brakes
Sticking clutch

Thats just what I can remember, it will get checked over so I'm sure the list will grow

So time to make a start……

Off to storage pen No 2 to pick it up open the doors and there he is!

A couple of flats on the front

Back at home in the workshop

Wheels off and check out that good old KORC concrete mud !!

Oh look a muddyzook.com rear disc conversion with handbrake Wink

An hour later and the axle is on the floor, the O/S spring also removed

Time to strip down the axle and see whats going on with that wonky wheel

I think that might have been the problem

By the time we had picked him up and got him back home we only managed a couple of hours, and every step was a fight as usual but hoping to get back down there tomorrow to do a bit more, so will be back with the next instalment soon

UM

I got a few more bits done, and took some picks which I will upload at some point then......... I got a phone call from the boss and I'm currently sitting out in South Africa for the next 3-4 weeks building a new call centre!!

So it doesn't look like I will even be back in time for the weekend let alone have it finished in time.

I'll keep you updated
