I've bought a detachable winch (13000 lb) for use on the 90 and 110 and I plan connecting it using anderson connectors which may also be used for jump starting if required.
Are 175amp up to the job or should I use 350amp?

better safe than sorry, i would rather stump up a few extra pennies and get the 350 and find i didnt need it.. than shell out for the 175 and find i needed bigger doubling the cost.

probably most similar to yours in terms of design..
warn 9000 and 12000 winches draw in excess of 430 amps under full load..

etc etc..

Mine are wired back to 350's - not had a problem under full load, don't know about 175's though.
I'd rather be safe than sorry - P

I have been using 175amp anderson connectors for five years on my front winch, rear winch and jump leads and find them perfectly capable. You've seen some of the holes ive been stuck in .

Genuine Anderson 175 connectors are rated at 175 amps continuously or 1,000 amps for up to 8 seconds.
So yes they are capable of handling winch currents for short period of time.
Remember if you double line then you halve the load on the winch drastically reducing current draw. Increases safety as less likely to break something, however you double your winching time.

yeah, they arent that expensive but i guess you run the risk of, like i said, paying twice almost if you fry the 175s..
do a little bit of british overengineering.. lol

Rated for what? is that the current at which they will be damaged or the current at which you will get some specified temperature rise?
