To the mods/owners:

As I'm sure you know these annoying spam adverts are software generated. The registration, the usernames, the posts are all generated automatically by what's known as a bot. The only way to stop it is to alter the registration process such that the bot fails. This is relatively easy, simply adding an additional question into the registration process is sufficient. If the much advertised forum update is imminent I wouldn't bother but I would suggest to your PHP gurus that they alter the standard registraion script for whatever forum software they're using.

In the meantime why not use the word censoring feature to alter the spam? The word "kitchens" is not one generally associated with 4x4 talk so why not change it to an amusing word that will cause the company in question much grief?

"Magic beans"

That's rather witty, I like that.

Well that only partially worked.

Invoice them for "marketing services". When they don't pay take them to Small Claims.

I must admit my thought was that the person paying for the advertising should take responsibility for it, but that's a call for the owners to make.

Can we take this kîtchens=magic beans out of the swear filter now as it is pretty obvious that not only does it not work properly, it doesn't deter either plus there are some people that are putting kîtchens into their custom build not magic beans

What is this magic bean of which you speak...

...and where can I find one?
