After many green laning trips where either myself or others have trashed alternators on their Pajeros after wading in muddy water due to the ridiculous positioning on the 2.5 engine me and my brother decided to bite the bullet and do something about it. my main priority was getting my alternator as high up in the engine bay as possible.

I've left my old (duff) alternator in it's original position just purely to drive the vacuum pump on the back.

I used my old air con pulley with the centre cut out and welded that to the existing power steering pulley, this proved awkward as the point where the two pulleys meet is on an angled edge

Careful alignment was also needed for the mounting plate again in order to get all the pulleys aligned. When we made the brackets

Piccies should explain it all

This is a great mod for the 2.5 units I've seen it done a few times now on various trucks, thanks for posting the pics mate! Cool
