I'm not exactly sure what you're asking here?
Are you referring to the drive for the Nokken winch? It's a direct drive from the transmission. Do you mean you'd like to make a hydraulic capstan winch from the traverse motor from a turret? If so, what would be it's purpose and intended line speed. If you show us the size of what you have there are many experienced with hydraulics here should have a fair idea of what you have or what you can do with it.

Are you ever going to show us some pictures!! Laughing

The ct version had a hydraulic ram to raise and lower the anti tank recoilless gun , with a two way switch just behind the drivers seat .the self contained pump and motor was positioned behind the rear heater powered from the batterys . My ram was borrowed for my mates tractor in france .
As I have not got a gun ( I know where there's two but I think the British army might notice they have gone on loan from Iraq army ?) what to do with the unit ? Need info on hydraulic motor ?sorry Jamie forgot about the winch powered c303 versions but you answered one question , I have another one how is the recovery ones winches powered from ? Separate motor !

Ah, right. I understand now. The unit has a small 24V motor powering a hydraulic pump to operate the ram. This will be around 1.5hp. This is very similar to what you'd find on a small tipper like a Transit or sprinter type commercial vehicle. This is not at all suitable for powering a motor but instead a ram. You'd lose a lot of the not much power available turning battery power to motion in the electric motor to turn it into pressure in the pump, lose some in the hoses and valving then turn it back to motion in a hydraulic motor. It would just be a disaster. If you want a hydraulic powered winch then better to use a power take off or even a pump driven from the engine.

You could use the unit you have to work a snow plough or other implement to lift it up and down?

I can put that back in the good ideas box then. Now thinking of putting a ram back on hoses and fitting a remote controlled search light on top of it ?
