Hello y'all difflock users Very Happy

Today I come here with some problems with my 2011 Lada Niva 1.7i.
So everything that these machines have to compare to the older Niva's is that everything is hydraulic wich in some cases can be a little complicated.

Anyways i have this rattling sound when turn on in cold coming out from the engine i think is the timing chain, the sound stops afeter some seconds that the engine is on. I looked for the tensioner like its on baxter website for me to adjust but when i found it it turned out is a hydraulic tensioner.

So my question is this normal? Does is that sound matter much? Or is there something to do?

A bit off topic - are such late models Nivas freely available in your country ?

If so, in which country you find yourself ?

The later 1.7is have a hydraulic tensioner so it can take a couple of seconds to build up the pressure and preload the tensioner enough to stop the rattle.

Ideally it shouldn't do this so it may be worth investigating the condition of the oil and the grade used.

So far as I am aware, there is no one way valve to maintain the pressure when the engine is turned off so the tensioner would have a tendancy to back off a little witht eh engine not running.
