Hi

I currently own a lovely 99 Gv with the Mazda engine, Im aware that the ecu can develop a fault causing the car to not start, resulting in replacment ECU,ICU and coded keys and barrel being needed. Luckaly this hasnt happend to my GV yet (hopfully never) But i am interested in Buying a 96 Vitara with the same engine to run the dogs around in.

Does the Vitara have the same ECU issues? or does it only effect the GV?

Many thanks
James

A 1996 won't have any issues as it won't have an immobiliser.

I thought it was only the 96 to 98 models had the RF engines? Then pug after that? I had a 97 & it didn't have an immobiliser as standard
