My standard tyre size that I have at the minute are 215/60/R16 and I'm looking for a new set of tyres, and have the following choices;

I can stick with the standard size or a) got to 205/65/16 or b) 215/65/16

Just wondering which of the 3 sizes has the better choice, availability and cheapest price

What I'm looking for is a good all round tyre, somthing for probably 80/20 road/off road. As I will do probably less than 3-4000 miles a year, mainly during the winter months, dry performance isn't the highest on my priority list. What I'm looking for is good wet weather performance, light mud and good slush/snow/ice.

As I do low mileage I cannot justify a second set of winters, so it has to be a "one tyre for all job"

I have found Goodyear Wrangler HP All Weather, Goodyear Vector4seasons and Toyo Open County HT in 215/60/R16, and Pirelli Scorpion STR in 205/65/R16.

Goodyear WHP - £91.20 per tyre
Goodyear V4S - £115
Toyo OCHT - £71.80
Pirelli STR - £92.90

Or maybe 215/65/R16, If they will fit OK. I can get some Nokian WRG2 SUV in this size for £99. Some say they are all season, others say pure winter.

Or Nokian WRD3 in 215/60/R16 but I don't know if this is rated as all season, like the G2.

Just found some Pirelli Scorpion STR in 215/65/R16 for £79, look like a bargain, but are they any good?

I can vouch for the Nokian WRG2, I ran a set for 18 months on a 4x4 hatchback and they were awesome in the wet and unbelievable in the snow. I didn't really notice any difference in 30c summer weather either compared to the Bridgestones they replaced.
