Laughing 100% neat what, in what?

Is this lowering the Boiling point or increasing the ability to inhibit rust?
(ie 'Is being stronger making it run cooler')
Why not just add some extra Summer Coolant?

If your Antifreeze is designed to work at a ratio of 50/50 or say 1-2 with H20 it will not operate correctly to the temps if there is no H20 present.

If the Type of Fluid is designed to be run as it is sold, then 100% is what should be put in.
No??

Obviously it is right to do what works for you, what do scientists know anyway!Wink

it has a high boiling point so i run it on my land rover and we used to do it with the forklift becuse of overe heating which it does stop the manufactuse say 50 50 due to the freezing tempture is perfect for road use also cheper its like tyer psi manufactus says 36 psi for example but not always the best unless road use this is the best figure for every day driving weare and grip its same with anti frezzeand ant corosion but whene you get a lot of debria on the rad it cant cope

Looking to do a coolant change soon and was just reading this thread so thought I'd contribute to the previous discussion.

There are two reasons why I think running 100% antifreeze might be a bad idea. Firstly pure antifreeze actually has a much higher freezing point than when mixed with water, high enough even to freeze in particularly cold British weather!

Secondly ethylene glycol has a lower heat capacity than water so takes less heat away from the engine for each degree its temperature rises. But your thermostat doesn't know this!

Also although pure antifreeze may have a higher boiling point I can't see how that helps? It may mean the coolant doesn't boil when the engine gets very hot but it won't help the engine cools down any more which is most important isn't it?

Having read the linked article are most people using OAT antifreeze now? And any reccomendations on a good cooling system cleaner?

Thanks
