ok i have been generously given 200 liters of rapeseed oil used.i have filtered it down to 1 micron. can i use this the same as veg oil or as sunflower oil. i use it 100% at the moment but i may stat to thin with diesel shortly if i can get a steady supply of free oil

wvo is more sensitive to temp change than svo. you have more chance of it waxing. diesel does not thin wvo.

how did you filter and how long have you settled it?

how did you dewater it?

it has been settled for 5 weeks and then filtered over night thru 5 micron then 1 micron gravity filtered. as for de watering i was just thinking the settling would deal with that. if diesel does not thin wvo is there something that can other than turning it into bio .

i tend to do it the other way round, filter then settle, but theres no reason why you should have problems with that side.

how did you manage to filter 200L through 5 microns overnight? was it heated or pumped?

what filters are you using?

diesel contains an anti waxing agent, thats why you use it in low temps, and petrol thins WVO.

but im not sure how tolerant of petrol your engine is.

right. i use sock filters.

if you need more, buy more filters.

don't rush your filtering as that's where a little mistake means you're off the road for a week.

there is a thread somewhere on here that shows my setup. 4 socks for each stage, 120L capacity per run.
