Hi All,
Just to let you know that Team Chaos will be having a stand at the Adventure Overland Show on the 6th-7th October. It promises to be one of the main shows of the year and caters not only for 4x4s, but also motorcycles, expedition vehicles and much, much more, and we are proud to be a part of it.
Details can be found at
www.adventureoverlandshow.com
If you find that you can help us by supplying items for us to sell please contact me either via pm on here or at colinbatchelor@hotmail.com As you all know, Team Chaos do not take any money for expenses etc, if you donate £1 then Macmillan receive £1.
If you do come along to the show please pop over and say hello, we will be pleased to see you and you will be guaranteed a warm welcome.
I would personaly like to thank Tom McGuigan for giving us this fantastic opportunity.
Best wishes
Colin.

It doesn't seem that long ago we were sat in Covent Garden after the 2008 London Marathon! That was a good weekend (and thanks to Wavey and Mimms putting me up on my fleeting visit back to the UK at the time)...
...but I've just pencilled that in for a camping session as it sounds like a good weekend.
So. thanks for letting us all know about that one Colin and I am sure we can talk later about giving you a hand at the show if you want.

And now I'm struggling to get fit enough to run the Leeds half marathon next month!
I'm afraid I won't be able to attend the Adventure Overland show - I'll be in Yorkshireland that weekend.

I'm close to fitness.
It's called fatness...
I did promise Colin that if I ran another London marathon it'll be for Macmillan again.
And I promised myself I'll do one more before I'm 50...

From Tom,
Now that Team Chaos has booked a Club Display Stand at ADVENTURE OVERLAND ( http://www.adventureoverlandshow.com ), here is a new attraction you may be interested in …
Were you aware that Whilton Mill is an internationally acclaimed karting centre that boasts two outdoor karting circuits? Well, due to public demand it has been decided to utilise the tracks as part of the ADVENTURE OVERLAND SHOW.
To this end, an enduro race will be held evening of Saturday 6th October 2012 to establish the first ever “ADVENTURE OVERLAND SHOW – Enduro Karting Champions”.
The format is simple –
Featuring teams entered from participating clubs and traders at ADVENTURE OVERLAND, after the show officially closes for the day at 17:00 hrs Saturday afternoon, a 20 min. practice session begins on the nursery Mill Circuit, then at 18:00 hrs. up to 20 teams (comprising of 4 drivers per team) will take part in a floodlit 2 hour enduro race on the National Circuit. The winners will be presented with an engraved, ongoing perpetual trophy to be kept by the winning team at their workplace or clubhouse for the following 12 months.
I am here to officially invite Team Chaos to enter a team.
Entry fee is £200 per team, that’s just £50 per person (four drivers are mandatory per team). Thanks to Whilton Mill Karting, this special show fee is 50% off the standard ‘public price’.
The karts are Biz twin-engine 160cc pro-karts. All race overalls and safety gear supplied.
Telemetry – Computerised results analysing your driving performance will be issued at the end of your session. Similar to the printouts a Formula 1 driver will look over after every practice session, this is designed to help improve lap times.
Spectator areas will be available for club mates, friends and family.
It should be noted, the Organisers of ADVENTURE OVERLAND make no profit from the race, it is purely provided as a novel additional attraction for the visitors and participants of the show.
Cheers,
Tom Mc
(Organiser of ADVENTURE OVERLAND)

Great Idea Tom, I will let our stand staff know and see what they think.
Cheers
Colin.

I would also like to point out that saying "mind yer car mate" in a spouse accent is not legally classed as demanding money with menaces

Katies buns were excellent Mate, but I did only have a nibble due to my diet.

Hi All,
Well I could not have hoped for more even in my wildest dreams. What a great bunch of helpers we had and they worked so hard. We ended up manning the car parks as well.
Everyone entered the spirit of the event and we raised just short of £800 (with gift aid) which was a fantastic result. Katie and Ged managed an extra £70 by using Katie with het crutches for the sympathy vote and Ged for the 'Do you want the wheels left on your car' approach.
I cannot pick out one highlight of the weekend but one of them was finally meeting Ged, who has raised literally thousands of pounds for Team Chaos.
Even the children got into the fundraising spirit by challenging people to a game of darts, so well done to them.
Parrott, Shelley, Tony,Lorraine, Ged,, Katie and my sidekick Pete, thank you all for everything you did over the weekend fantastic. Thank you also to Maria for putting up withme as well.
