any honda techs on here
looking at FWD engines , with the best low down grunt ..
i think the vtr/vti engine dont start performing till the 5.5 rev mark(not what im looking for)
what block to lookout for (b type?) single/twin cam blablabla
and it needs to be a reverse rotation engine (not all hondas are ...v6 isnt)
around a 1.6 or bigger and auto
thanks in advance
R

Rick I know what your thinking of doing but if you get a reverse rotation engine and a gearbox from the same car you would not have reverse rotation outpus from the shafts ! You need a gearbox from a normal rotation engine to give reverse outputs!
Just so you don't drop a doodaa

Depends where and which way you want to put the engine.
Mines got mid engine with gearbox in front and it drives the wheels the right way. If you want engine in front and gearbox behind engine then all you need is a car with the gearbox on the drivers side not passenger side like mine.
On a Honda reverse rotation engine the gearbox reverses the drive again so you get forward drive.

a honda b16 or b18 engine will set you back big money for the loom etc a they are a popular conversion for eg ak and crx civics.
I have a friend who has his b18 engined civic away at race tech having a 500bhp build done using a garret gt30rs turbo. Oooohhh for one of them off road.
Completely pointless though and I think they way the power is delivered you will probably break stuff. If we knew what it was going in we might be able to suggest other alternatives?

not sure whats in thew buggy code wise, i know its a 1.6 civic, 16v not sure if its dohc though., i seem to renember someone said it was a b14??? its out of a late 80's civic sport (or whatever it was called) yes it has a very short front prop, to be expected with 76" wheelbase.. however on leafs this isnt a problem. the only trouble with props we've had is i hit something a bit hard (because we only had 2wd at the time) and the rear prop splines pulled apart, this isnt a problem now asweve made a slightly longer prop. it does eat front axles, but thats only since welding the centre diff (which is great ) most of that is 410 axles and that there is alot too much boot being used, soon we're fitting rings on the cv's, after that it might be getting dana axles (also because of cheap lockers )
the power doesent all come out at once as its an auto, so its torque converter does most of the work, i quite like having power from 2000 rpm up to 7000 rpm... it can be quite usefull

It's a d16 in your buggy NRG.
D series are single cam, B series are twin cam, K series are twin cam and spin the conventional way. There is also a H there somewhere too but i don't know much about them
