how do i get the standard radio out of a 2002 terrano??

there are two small holes in the front, but pushing wire into these doesn't seem to do anything.

i've found two screws behinde the ash tray, removing these makes the centre console a bit loose - but it doesn't come out

what next? big screwdriver?

Been nearly a year since I had my dash apart but if I remember correctly there were 2 more screws only visible from below. Then I levered from the yop around the vents but be careful of power to any switched eg hazard switch.

Idealy you need the correct tool which is 2 u shaped spring steel clips that go into the two holes on one side simultainiously and ditto for the other side. You will feel them engage a clip as you push them in, then pull back on the 2 tools while applying a little sideways ,(towards the door)pressure.
I have used 4 bits of 3.2mm welding rod before which works well but only released one side of the unit at a time
