my my my, such a hot issue in the world and not one single post from any of our lovely differs....
Given the situation, what do you think..
Yes to scottish independance,
No to scottish independance
i am wondering given the research/reading i have been doing over the last ocuple of days if the Scotish first minister has actually thought about this..
DVLA, Tax/revenue, policy setting, etc etc, (the list is huge of agencies needing to be replaced),...

Not simple.
Alex Salmond does not really want it IMO.
The agencies and employees are already here.
We can stop employing all the ones that shadow others without doing anything actually & they can get productive work.
If we can keep the 5 local DVLA offices open which the UK government are about to close untill we become Independent then the staff who already work for a Private Agency will be employed by the Scottish Executive agency instead of the Westminister one.
(Think NHS & what we already have Scottish NHS)
We can get rid of the Scottish Office run by Westminister that works or not as the case when we already have an Executive Government and Civil Servants working now for Scotland.
We have a postal service, school/education service, civil defence, TA, Fire/Police/Ambulance, Tax Offices, Roads & Air services, Ports, Harbours, Ferries.
We just need to keep things from being closed by the UK Government before we get the Vote.
The Queen & the Royal family seem to know that it is the right thing to happen.
I actually do not want Independence & i know what the SNP are and who are the paymasters.
(i do not want the likes of Brian Souter having the same power as the present Law people in Edinburgh practices had)
They however are not so bad as the People that run Scotland now through the Blackmail and Corruption of having sponsored young Politicians in Scotland for Years & getting them into places of power.
Study the Colleges & Legal Practices that the Top Scottish political people went too.
See the likes of Gordon Browns fast track education.
See his Edinburgh Education and his first G/F
Tony Blairs background and family and how he was educated and who his G/F was and her father & others like him that are the power.
Lord Malcolm Rifkind, Lord Michael Forsyth, Alistair Darling, Lord Jim Wallace,
Look at the Scottish EDINBURGH legal system and the Sheriffs & Judges & some of the cases that are almost impossible to even find out about even online.
SNP & Labour might be corrupted by wealth, Liberals might be just hopeless, but all of the parties are corrupted by the people in power and some peoples liking for their private little pleasures.
This is a Corrupt country & it might need Independence to clear out those that pull the strings & can not risk being exposed.
It will all come out in the wash soon.
Do some research into the political beliefs of some of the Scottish MP's & ex MP's and now Lords.
Look at some of the Societies they belong to. Look at some of the Freemason & other houses/groups that they belong to.
3 Kings etc.
Good riddance when the time comes.

Not sute what independence means? Will england have to subsidise the change over? Also what will the change in paye and vat and pretty much every tax mean to england and can scotland and england really stand alone would either country be strong enough when split.
At a time of severe economic hardship world wide i just wonder is this really the right time.
Not a mp and to be fair not really sure how a split will change england but i'm proud of my heritage and so should the scottish so if independence is the will of the people then who can argue. I do hope there will be a proper ballot of the people rather than someone hoping on a poor turnout from the opposition and a strong representation from the passionate nationalists.
I love scotland i travel to and work there quite a lot and to be honest i have found people to be friendly and good to get on with, also there seems to be a mix of opinions on this matter. Just my opinion.

your voting questions, have they come from alex salmondoded. not much room other opinions.
i couldnt care less as to if it will work or not. It wont be my country. However, i think the question should read, should scotland be independant. I think, yes. i think many englismen would vote yes too!! Especially given that scots would rather support germany or argentina over any english team, something i have never understood as i support all home countries.
Maybe it will stop the Scots from whining so much. Full independance............
no more money from UK,
no influence in our parliament (gorden brown...no englishman voted him into power),
No more armed forces presence,
border control,
I love scotland, and lived up there for several years, would move back again tomorrow if i had the chance. I did get sick of "we want english out" tho.
I also feel any scotsman who wants full independance is being foolish.
just an opinion obviously.

re Gordon Brown.
I think you will find it was a UK electoral system that put him into power, the Scottish system we now have would not have allowed it.
The UK system has him still picking up all his MP's wages, expenses and allowances without actually doing his job as a MP.
Yesterday it is announced that he has Given to charity the 1.4 million he has made since he gave up as the PM.
www.pressandjournal.co.uk/Article.aspx/2646985
Not given up what the family makes through his past connections though.
MI5 & the House of Windsor have the knowledge that makes them resign when they do, in the way that they do.
Most are allowed to continue earning from the Public purse.
Some can just not be made Peers.
House of Cards.
SNP will need to have a clear out of some of theirs before any Referendum can take place.
'Kenny Mac Askill MSP' has a coat on a shoogly peg.

To be honest as a Scot I dont really care , or should I say I didn't use to . I am more and more though an d mainly due to hearing all this rubbish about how we would never survive without English money or assistance.
I am Sure an independant Scotland would be no more screwed up than and independant England but atleast it would be screwed up by Scots
The uk/England will be significantly worse off without Scotland .
I do think we are stronger as a union .
As far as the football supporting goes If every tournament we didn't get it rammed down our throats how the mediocre, overpaid , overhyped , talentless primadonnas that are England are going to win maybe more would cheer them on .....
To be honest I care more about the football

Independence? Terrifying.
I have many reasons for not wanting it, however one of the main ones is; if that SPAM git Alex thinks it's a good idea, it has to be a disaster. He's a moron.
And, I'm quite disgusted by all the anti-Scottish sentiment above. Building walls, whinging?
Go 'do-one' , the lot of you.

Personally I don't want it - I like the UK, but if the Scots vote for it in a straight yes or no vote - fair enough.
Actually, can we have a vote, in the next year, for English withdrawl from the UK - for no other reason than p off Alex Salmomd.
I get the feeling Mr S is hell bent on been a Turkaman type father of the Scottish nation.

Thanks. Now I know where those distilleries I must part own by now are.
Speyside is one of them. Funny, my favourite engine was the Rolls Royce Spey. Had two on my Buccy.

hold on hold on I'm north of the wall and I consider myself Northumbrian (and part of england), if you want Northumberland back then I'm afraid you're going to have to fight me for it.
