I've been offered 45 gallons of used T32 hydraulic oil.
Free.
With the possiblilty of lots more.

I understand that most diesel engines will run on this stuff (including non-EDC 300tdi's?), and it's supposed to be cleaner than diesel.

If so, I realise that I'll have to register with HM Customs and Revenue to be able to run on this stuff, and pay the duty on it (around 60p/litre? Still cheaper than dino or new veg oil)

I'm also guessing that I ought to filter it to ensure it's not contaminated; presumably a set up similar to filtering waste veg oil down to 1 micron will suffice?

Can anyone please advise what rato I ought to run it at in winter & summer.

And as I've already stockpiled new veg oil over the past few months, can I run a diesel/veg oil/T32 mix? Or is it dino plus one other only?

I run ATF in the Peugeot and i think it is the same as hydraulic oil, this is considering an auto gearbox is a hydraulic system, i have run ATF, engine oil and diesel mixed and it still ran.

I've heard it runs quite nicely, without the horrible smell of chip SPAM.

Just caught up with this topic......

I know someone runs a TDI 300 on the old oil out of transformers, it's basically hyd' oil.
The electric companies have to pay to have it disposed of, he does it for free.
